Thank you for your interest in working at KNS Language Institute.
Teaching English while living in a foreign country, while highly rewarding, can be a challenging experience, and it is not for everyone. Our recruiting department chooses our teachers carefully, searching for the most dedicated people who, in addition to wanting a taste of adventure, are genuinely interested in the educational development of their students, and who are prepared for the excitement and challenges involved in living abroad.
If you are interested in joining our team, please send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please allow up to a week for us to respond to your application. If you don't hear from us in that time, please check your junk email folders in case our mail has been mis-classified as spam.
Students at KNS range in age from six to fifteen years. They are, for the most part, hard-working and dedicated, taking great pride in their work. The Taiwanese people place great value on education and as such, teachers are held in high regard by the culture at large. Students learn from an early age to respect their teachers and don’t typically manifest the types of complex behaviour problems frequently seen in the North American classroom. Teaching these students is fun and rewarding and is an experience to be remembered.
In order to ensure that our students are receiving the best instruction we can deliver, KNS takes great care when considering new applicants. We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, lively people, who have a willingness to learn new things and expand their teaching knowledge, who are open to new ideas and situations, and who are up for the challenge that this unique job entails. Teaching at KNS requires a high degree of organization and creativity and, our teachers are hard-working individuals who genuinely love working with kids.
Working in a foreign culture comes with its share of challenges, not the least of which is the language barrier. At KNS, we’ve built a system designed to facilitate smooth communication between teachers, Chinese staff, and parents. One of the most integral parts of this system is the class coordinator. Each of our coordinators speaks English at a high level, which allows them to serve as an effective communication link between you and the parents of your students. Although they are not present in the classroom, coordinators work closely with teachers outside of class, and will know your students as well as you do. In addition to helping with quiz and test marking and providing additional support after class to students who need it, your coordinator can help you with, and advise you on, any difficulties that may arise either in or out of the classroom.
